|
Explore the possibilities for your knitting with new adventures from Terry Liann Morris, the SailingKnitter. Three years ago my husband and I quit the jobs, sold the house, sold the car & furniture, and got rid of all our stuff.
We're now living aboard our sailboat, a 50-foot Gulfstar Sailmaster named NIKI WIKI, and are open-ended cruising
in Mexico, Central America, thru the Panama Canal and now the Caribbean. We left San Diego, California in October of 2006 to sail south to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. So now, we're going wherever our vagabond spirits take us with me knitting all the way.
Update March 2010: We're happily hanging out in Bocas del Toro, Panama. What a great place! CHECK OUT THE NEW "Sock Club; Join the Knitting Adventure" book available at your Local Yarn Shop or online. This book by Charlene Schurch and Beth Parrot includes 2 of my sock designs - COZY CABLES SOCKS and BEADED LATTICE SOCKS and is now the only source for those patterns - plus you get 21 other wonderful sock designs from different sock clubs.

The popular MYSTERY SLIPPERS can now be downloaded from the FREE Patterns page - my gift to you.
All patterns are available for download in PDF form (requires that you have Adobe Reader) and payment can be made conveniently through PayPal. NOTE: these are knitting pattern "documents" - not the finished knit items.

RAKU FELTED BOWLS
| |
Raku is a process that potters use where they place red-hot clay bowls in a bucket of dry leaves. This creates beautiful one-of-a-kind results from the smoke of the leaves and different temperatures. They never know what the end result will look like.
Felting your knitted items knit in multicolored yarns is much the same as you never know what you’re going to get, but it is all beautiful. Let the yarn do the talking in these simple-to-knit rolled-edge felted bowls. Plus, after knitting and before felting, add interesting “bobbles” by using river rock or marbles tied into the fabric with rubber bands if you want a truly freeform look! Bowls are knit in the round from the top down.
